Doors open at 6:30pm for a 7:00pm screening of what has been described as “one of the greatest Christmas films – and literary adaptations – of all time” (Charlotte Runcie of The Telegraph). Starring Michael Caine in “frankly, a brilliant performance” as Ebeneezer Scrooge, The Muppet Christmas Carol is “a wonderful festive story, enchantingly told.

Justice & Peace

Our parish collects biscuits and toilet rolls to help provide basic supplies to asylum seekers in the diocese. These are collected regularly, on the first Sunday of the month. If you would like to donate items and haven’t brought anything in yet then please remember to bring them to church next Sunday 4 December and place them under the bench in the narthex ready to be collected.

The centre is always very grateful for our supplies and with the holiday period coming up they would welcome an even bigger stock of things to draw from. Please give generously.

Book Launch and Reading at St Cuthbert’s

Sonnets from the Spirit is a collection of 52 icons in poetry on major episodes from Sacred Scripture, written according to the ancient practice of midrash, by the award-winning British theologian and poet Christopher Villiers. This book is intended to provide readers with a little feel for God working through, and sometimes despite, very human people whose strengths and weaknesses greatly resembled those of 21st century humankind. Monday 5 December, 5:00-6:15pm, with refreshments.
