An ecumenical
service of music and prayer in the style of the Taize Community will be
held in the North Transept of Durham Cathedral (under the auspices of
the Diocesan Liturgical Committee). Singers are needed to help lead the
music - practice at 6.15.

'A Greener Durham - what next?' Keynote speaker, Ashok Sinha, Director of Stop Climate Chaos, followed by a lively discussion.
Capitalising
upon a successful launch of the Durham Agreement on 5 September (a
campaign to reduce single-use carrier bags), this evening provides an
opportunity to discuss ways in which individuals, businesses, the
University and the Church can move towards living more sustainable

Do you ever feel the church is summed up as “ Jesus is coming - look
busy”? Does the busyness of work (or Church life) ever leave you
feeling like there is no time or energy for social action? Reflect in
quiet with others about the possibility of holiness, personal and
political. Jennifer Smith is a US citizen permanently resident in the
UK and serving as a Methodist minister in the Kettering and Corby
Circuit . She also works with the Methodist Church of Nigeria to
support a variety of social welfare projects. Quiet day at St Antony’s
Priory, Claypath, Durham. Donation of £15 includes lunch. |
